Layout Transitions??

I have several emulators using the same layout.
Wanted to keep the same layout for all of them except a definable pic of the relevant console on each one.
I couldn't find out how to do that (but if it can be done this would be so much easier!!)
so made seperate layouts for each emulator with it's own pic.

Next problem is the transition between layouts (fade out to fade in), I don't want. Would prefer almost instantaneous.

Is there a way to do this??
