FS: Satan's Hollow dedicated machine - Spring, TX
« on: May 01, 2010, 06:48:19 pm »
Liquidating my arcade machines since I haven't really been "into" the hobby for a few years now...  Currently available:

Satan's Hollow I picked up several years ago with the intention of a restoration, but life got in the way.  Cabinet is solid and machine is working - I've installed a switching power supply and audio amp "hack" as the original power supply bit the dust.  No wiring butchery - only modifications to the wiring are the vampire taps used to hook up the switching supply.  Audio amp is plugged into the original wiring connectors, just like the original amp.  You could easily go back to an original PS if you wanted.  Totally playable as-is.

Side art is in good condition.  I'd mask the graphics, lightly sand and reroll or respray the red and call it a day.  Needs CPO as the front edge is flaked off.  Original translucent red stick has a visible few cracks but is still in one piece.  Could use a good scrubbing with a toothbrush to get into all the nooks and crannies.  Joystick insert is missing, monitor bezel, marquee and control panel marquee are all intact and in good shape.

Including an extra set of PCBs I picked up off eBay some time ago as a backup (working when last tested), a couple of Midway audio boards, an extra control panel marquee (the curved piece above the CP) and a new set of pushbuttons.

Pics available on Craigslist ad below.

Asking $325 on Craigslist (http://houston.craigslist.org/vgm/1719965605.html), let's say $300 OBO here.
*sold*

Super Neo 29 cabinet is in great shape, has been setup for use with MAME in addition to Atari 2600, NES, SNES, Genesis, TG16, PSX emulators and a couple of different Dance Dance Revolution sims.  Tired original monitor was replaced with a Betson Imperial 29" which, combined with the ArcadeVGA card allows most arcade games to be run under their original resolutions or can do PC resolutions up to 800x600.  All new Sanwa buttons on CP.  PC is interfaced via J-Pac, so original wiring is present and intact should you choose to run original JAMMA boards or a Neo Geo MVS board in the machine.

I've added discrete USB ports under the front edge of the control panel to allow for connection of additional controllers or a keyboard and mouse should you want or need them for anything.  I'm including a metal DDR pad with USB adaptor for use with the DDR sims and a PSX controller, also with USB adaptor, for use with the console games.

Side art is missing from the right hand side.  I vectored the artwork years ago, so you can get it from localarcade on the web when it comes back up, or buy it from one of the vendors who took the art I put up on localarcade and are now selling repros from it.  Left hand side art is in great shape.  I've never bothered replacing the art on the right because the machine fits so well in a corner no one really notices it's missing anyway.

Pics on Craigslist ad here (http://houston.craigslist.org/vgm/1720850738.html).  I've got at least $1500-1750 invested but as with all hobbies don't expect to ever see that back.  Asking $750 obo.
*sold*

Hang-On cabinet was non-working when I got it.  Gutted it, installed a PC and 20" monitor, interfaced using an A-PAC to the handlebar controls.  Handlebars have been repainted, received new brake and throttle cables and grips.  Front of the machine was patched up where a lock bar had been installed, and both the front of the cabinet and the coin door have been repainted.  Looks sharp.  Cab otherwise has a few bumps and dings but is in great shape for it's age.

Currently setup for Hang-On and Super Hang-On, but I don't see why you couldn't put other motorcycle games on here as well.

Pics on Craigslist ad here (http://houston.craigslist.org/vgm/1720878229.html).  Asking $150 obo there, let's say $125 obo here.
*sold*

All machines local pick up in Spring, TX (north of Houston) only - no shipping.

Man... I want that Super Neo 29 but I'm in Socal :( It'd be perfect for my SFIII:3s board I have laying around.

Damnit.

If it's any consolation, I've got a guy who's supposed to be coming by in the morning to get it...  Hopefully you no longer need to be tempted to drive to Texas.   ;D

That said, I was just playing some Metal Slug X on it and will be sorry in some ways to see it go.  It's really a sweet machine...  I've just got too many hobbies and too little time, and the arcades pretty much never get played anymore, so it's time for them to go.  My new MINI Cooper should be here in the next couple of days, I'm thinking the proceeds from the arcades are going to go into my new wheel/tire or coilover fund.  Will just have to find some way to distract the wife...  >:D

EDIT: Sale went through.  Sold it to a Neo Geo fan.  Seems like it went to someone who's really going to appreciate and play it, which I'm glad for.
