RAM, USB Star Wars Yoke-- best settings?
« on: April 26, 2010, 12:45:02 pm »
Hi Everyone---

I finally got the yoke all set up in my cab-- but I'm still having trouble getting the settings right for the horizontal (X?) movement.

Currently, I'm restricted to approx 3" off center to the left and right. I have full up/down movement with no issues.

I went into the analog settings and played with them for quite a while for Star Wars, but can't make that horizontal movement any wider no matter what I tried.

I didn't have this issue with the Dual Strike hack-- but I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. I have joysticks enabled within Mame and again, the yoke/USB interface appears to be working fine overall.

Hmmm--- maybe I should be adjusting this within WindowsXP (my operating system) as a joystick, rather than within mame?

FYI-- I'm running Mame32 on that cab.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
PS-- look for my review and article soon on the the yoke in GameRoom! (gameroommagazine.com)
Seriously. Will it fit in my basement or what?

Did you calibrate the yoke in Windows? (under Control Panel, Game Controllers)

Thanks Havok-- I kept trying to adjust it in Mame and now I see why that simply won't work. Since his USB gadget turns it into a joystick that the PC recognizes, you have to adjust it there.

Thanks!

My review for GameRoom so far (the yoke and USB adapter) -----  WOW.  :afro:
