Konami System 573
« on: April 18, 2010, 11:18:29 am »
Hi everybody.

I'd like to start this thread because there's very few information available about that system.

We have a Hyper Bishi Bashi Champ (3 Players, english language) that stopped working one day with the message "hardware unmatched". We started to look for information and some day we found out that the RTC(Real time clock)-battery was empty. We replaced the whole RTC but the error message remained. We continued our search. I bought a 2nd board from Asia. It had alle the stuff you expect from a System 573. A CD-Drive with the CD and a matcvhing security cartridge...a blue module stuck inside the mobo. I attached it to my Jamma-cab and indeed it was Hyper Bishi bashi...but in Japanese and for two players only. We did a big mistake thinking our game was lost and we tried to re-flash our board with the game I purchased....it worked...and now the game on our board is lost. The Mame-Team would have been able to extract the game code from our board but now it's gone and, to make it even worse, it has never been dumped before  :banghead:

All we would have needed to do after replacing the RTC is to press the test-button and the service-button behind the coindoor to re-initialize the game.

I'd like to collect more and more information about that system so there is information to be found when someone needs it.

If YOU know anything about it and you think it is worth to be said here feel free to post  :applaud:
