New Tron movie arcade marquees
« on: April 16, 2010, 11:53:32 pm »
I have a few of these Tron marquees with the Encom logo left. I had these printed by the company that does our Gatorade marketing materials. They're based on the Tron machine seen in the Tron Legacy movie trailer. Two versions, one with the original Tron marquee colors (blue) and one with the movie version colors (gray). They fit a standard Tron cab (or can be used for decoration, I recommend over the bed in the Master Bedroom) and are printed straight onto 060 Lexan. I think they came out great. Also printed some Encom decals which I will include with each marquee order.
$35 shipped

Down to my last gray and still have a few more blue's. Let me know if anyone wants them. Otherwise, they get packed up until the movie comes out and then the prices double!   ;D

The Encom marquee looks more faded than the original, is it the same bulb in there?

Thats cauz its cheaply inkjetted knockoff and not done right
with an inaccurate art file that was simply just downloaded from the net.

I wouldn't go calling it a "cheap inkjet knockoff" when even the best reproduction marquees suffer from this problem.  For example, the marquee overlay for Crystal Castles looks amazing and exact. Not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. But the black suffers from not being opaque enough. Who knows why, but I have not seen repros that are able to get around that issue.

It's not meant to be the highest end marquee in the world, like anything that is digitally printed as opposed to screened. I know Rikitiki put a ton of time and effort getting his exactly perfect. If you want perfect, go with his by all means. It's a premium product that you're going to pay premium prices for. I'm not trying to rip anyone off, just trying to give people a cheaper option which everyone who has bought one seems appreciative of. With that being said, I have some more gray ones if anyone is interested. PM me.

Crystal Castles is a great example of not paying attention to Black especially for silkscreened.
and Black seems to be a problem for some
but in this case its SILVER that seperates the men from the boys making the black 100% opaque
