Im guessing you could plug in a neo geo gamepad, but again am unsure.

Also, you can plug in regular neogeo pads in MVS hardware, theres plugs for 2 pads AND a headphone jack

There are not joystick ports and headphone jacks on all of the MVS mobo's. There is a PCB comparison [here].
