Questions on illuminated Control Panel
« on: April 14, 2010, 04:34:02 pm »
I already finished my controller, which was an easy enough project and am now sure I can wire an arcade control panel no prob.  I'm thinking of going with lit buttons and sticks.  Are there any illuminated bat-top joysticks?  I haven't seen any and figured if they existed someone here would know.  I really want to use bat-tops for street fighting games.

Also, can you set certain buttons/sticks to light?  I want to cut down on people asking "What buttons do I use?" for every game.  This is an example of what I want:

For Street Fighter 2 only P1/P2 sticks and their 6 buttons light up
TMNT all sticks light up, but only the buttons that are used light up
In Centipede the trackball and P1/P2 fire button lights, but no joysticks

So if a stick or button isn't used in a game I don't want it lit.  How easy is it to do this if it can be done?

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

Thanks, I'll have to read that carefully.

Anybody know if there are lit bat-tops? Or clear ones that can be converted?
