Book on a nostalgia/reminiscing tip?
« on: April 14, 2010, 06:56:55 am »
Hi guys

Any recommendations for/against any of these particularly please? Any especially worth getting/avoiding? Thinking of buying one for a little trip down Memory Lane! :)

I have many of these.  For the money, its hard to beat this one:

The Ultimate History of Video Games (Paperback)
by Steven L. Kent

Supercade is great and if you can find a hardcover version, its a nice coffee table book.

I'd stay away from this one:

Arcade Fever: The Fan's Guide to the Golden Age of Video Games
by John Sellers

Its a good book, I have a copy, but the price is too high on it right now as it must be out of print.  If you can find it cheap, grab it, but its not worth the price amazon is asking.

$12.99 us for Arcade Fever is fair.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=arcade+fever

It's an ok book. Not too "serious". Has a lot of photos of old dirty machines though. Would be nice to find a book from the actual 80's with images of brand new machines. Which book would fit that bill?

NO MORE!!
