Mame analog devices sensitivity page?
« on: April 11, 2010, 08:19:21 pm »
Is there any page with proper mame settings for analog devices like trackballs, spinners etc?
What I'm asking is how do I know how centipede or crystal castles should feel like with my trackball? Sure I can set it up to what I like, but is it arcade perfect then? There is pretty much 4 values for cenitpede each from 0 to 254 for XY axis. That's a lot of variables before I hit something I like. I'd rather have something close to arcade perfect.
With spinners might not be as easy to create something uniform as there is many different spinners with different encoders, but trackballs are pretty much the same, no?

This wiki page has some data.
You didn't mention if you're using a 2.25", 3", or 4.5" Trackball.

Mod please combine my thread with this one: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=101308.0 I guess I'm not that original, again.

EwJ. My trackball is 3" (as I would assume majority of peoples here) Thx for the wiki page, but I'm looking for something more user friendly I'm still not sure how to apply those values to digital speed versus sensitivity basicaly I'd like to see something like: centipede 3" Trackball: X & Y -digital speed use value of 50, X & Y - sensitivity use value of 100 for perfect or near perfect arcade settings.
