I was going to build my own change machine, but have since changed plans. I have these parts for sale to do just that. They are: a coin hopper, Rowe coin cup, and 24V power supply.
When you send 24V to the hopper, it spits out quarters like crazy - well about 4 per second (roughly) - until it's empty. You could easily build a cabinet for these and use a momentary pushbutton to send power to the hopper and devise some kind of funnel system to the cup. Push the button, coins come out. Or if you are good with electronics, you could use a microcontroller and motor controller (not included) to count the number of coins dispensed from the hopper and start and stop it accordingly. This would cause it to operate more like an actual change machine. You could push the button once, and it would spit out four (or however many you set it to) quarters. There is an optical sensor on the hopper which I believe is for this purpose. I do not know the specs of it, or how to interface to it.
I'd guess that it would also dispense .984 tokens fine, or it may need slight adjustments to do so. It has those adjustments on it to do that - I never tried it, but they are there.
How about $50 OBO for the hopper, coin cup, and power supply?
Thanks,
Rick
