Hi all

I take it the green earth wire on the Happ 3" trackball is supposed to be secured between the two halves of the housing, on the copper coloured foil squares, is this the case? Where do you put the other end? Can you just crimp it to the ground wire daisy chain that goes to the wiring harness of a U360? Does it actually make a difference if you do/n't connect it?

Cheers all

Hello,
If you are using a Happ USB capable trackball then they are not needed. Just cut them off or take out the screws that hold them to remove.
Happ takes an original arcade wired trackball that normally uses that green wire and then converts it to a USB trackball.

Here's a link with a lot of good information in it especially by 2600.  While there may not be a consensus on this, the old adage of better safe than sorry may apply here.

Thanks guys

It's actually NOT a USB trackball - I got it before the USB one came out, it's connected to an OptiPac.

Thanks for the link Hoopz - didn't see that thread. Consensus seems to be that it's not obligatory but it'll help prevent cr@p being attracted to the ball, and that I need to screw it to an earth ground (I have a steel CP). Nice and easy.

Thanks again guys.

Easy tiger (tigress).  I didn't read thru the entire thread before posting that.  I had forgotten that you, Randy and others had provided context also.

Go TM some more words that you don't own.   ;D
