Question about IPac4 installation
« on: April 05, 2010, 01:06:31 am »
So I've been wiring my IPac 4 up, and I've run into a bit of an issue.  I have a 4 player control panel, with 8 buttons each.  This simply takes up all entries for the IPAC4 board.  Example:  1Start, 1Coin, 1SW1,1SW2, 1SW3... 1SW8... 4SW8.  My problem is, I have the panel designed so that I could have 2 extra buttons for Esc and Enter, for my Mame Frontend.  My question, is how do I rig these buttons up?  I thought of daisy chaining them to the shift button and the button I want to also be hit when I want to use Esc or Enter.  But if I wire it this way, won't it make it so that all 3 buttons are connected to each other?  So that when I hit one button it will activate the other 2 due to the open circuit connection between them?  Or do I have the right idea by daisy chaining one button to two other buttons?  Also, if I do this, will my mame cab explode from too many multiple inputs? :(

Please disregard this message :P  Apparently I am retarded and cannot count.  I have 7 player buttons, which means I can use the button 8 for any of my other buttons.  I apologize for my stupidity, but I guess that's what happens when you're trying to wire buttons at midnight XD
