Swapping CRT for LCD but what size to use?
« on: March 08, 2016, 12:20:03 pm »
Hello I just purchased a Mame Cabinet and was looking to swap out the 21" CRT for a LCD monitor but I would like advice on what size to get in case I cant find a reasonable 4:3 Monitor. Thanks for any advise

whatever size you can get to fit, and will fit within the confines the current monitor is occupying.

this isn't rocket science. measure the opening and find something that fits.

you are less likely these days to find a 4:3 or 10:9 aspect LCD and you may have to end up going with whatever you can find, if you know what I mean.

First option: Keep the CRT if you can. Or at least give it to someone that could use it.

Second option: I'd get a 42 inch LED TV and mount it vertically. Then use RetroArch to center the visible portion of the mame screen.
