Never even heard of bluemsx. I see it's an emulator, but of what? the website's not terribly clear.

If you can run it from the command line, you should be able to run it from Mala. There are posts around here about setting up BAT files to do just that, for a variety of different emulators.

I'll dig around and see if I can find a link

I've got it set up to launch the bluemsx.exe followed by the quoted rom path, rom name, and extension (one of the standard presets). If you're still having problems try to get it working in the command prompt first to get a good handle on how it works.

Hope that helps

Bluemsx is an easy emu to setup

the commandline is "%path%\%rom%.%ext%"

Use Mala Hook esc  to end the games.

Go into to emulator outside mala and choose msx 2  state. Then you can run both msx 1 and two. You can change all kind of stuff in the emu
also keyboard setup. It's an incredible complete emulator.

There were some good actitivison game cartridges for the msx1. The Msx 2 was largely a failure so there's not as many games for that one
but the quality is fine. There's many strategy games and those you can forget running in a frontend due to all the keyboard inputs needed and they changed from game to game.

I have both Msx 1 and 2 in my setup but as with all PCs  there's the problem with the right buttons assigned to the 5 or 6 buttons you have on your cabinet. Still many ordinary arcadetype games had mostly the same buttons and some you can change with a program like Autohotkey.

There's a story that Bill Gates saw the msx as the successor to the Dos PC and promoted it widely. I myself had a Yamaha MSX 1! I bought the gamecartrigdes in the UK on mailorder, mostly activision as the standart was incredibly high on that brand considering the limited ram and video size.
