Remove game from list key problem
« on: March 21, 2010, 07:46:56 am »
Hi
I was wondering if there is a way instead of joytokey software, to be able to use "remove game from list" by button on joypad? I know it can be simply done, by keyboard, but I don't know why it doesn't work with joypad.

Doesn't it?

There is an option for this.

I am at work right now and can't test

Yes there is option I can configure it, when I push the button the window with removal screen pops and... I can't use my joystick to navigate, nor I can cancel or accept with joypad buttons. It works only with keyboard :(

AHHH

Your quote confused me

It works only with keyboard :(

I was trying to work out why the code was working with the keyboard and not joystick and I could not even get keyboard to work but you said you had it working so I was wondering what was the problem.

So the problem really is you can't control it with any method right?

How do you make it move up and down in the menu with the keyboard?

I don't have any problem when using keyboard, I just hit the button, screen pops, navigate with up and down arrows and confirm with enter. However when I use the joypad I can advance only to popping the removal screen and than I am stuck - up and down previously configured on joypad axis does'nt do anything, though they work in every other action.

I have to say, I can definitely see the benefits of being able to remove a game from MALA with a control panel exclusively...
My arcade box and cabinet have yet to join forces, however even right now, I have the CP on my lap to play/test games, but when I want to remove one, I have to fumble and dig for the mouse to do so. This would only get harder actually having my computer mounted inside the cabinet.

Just my two cents, would be to implement a feature that could be bound to a button press, that would pop up a dialogue box 'Do you want to remove this game?" Yes No.

Regardless, Great app loadman, I'm definitely sticking with mala as my front-end of choice.

Ahh just don't allocate a key to this function to be safe  ;)
