Game controllers added to cab, ideas? help?
« on: March 18, 2010, 12:16:12 pm »
I would like to add game controllers to my cabinet. I find that trying to play N64 games on anything but a N64 controller is hard (for me). I am trying to find a way to add controllers where I can add and remove them and keep the cabinet looking nice. I found black USB plates (http://www.datapro.net/products/usb-dual-horizontal-plate.html) which I can add to the back of the control panel out of the way. This is great for the 360 controller. This doesn't solve my problem for the N64. Any suggestions?

I agree, hopefully you some USB feedthroughs on your cab.  If not, mouser.com has some nice black USB A/B feedthroughs, just drill a hole and mount.  I have a few in my cab.  http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=NAUSB-W-Bvirtualkey56810000virtualkey568-NAUSB-W-B

I was thinking of doing the plate at one time myself, but these looked easier, and they are cheaper and work great.

Hope this helps.

I used a Neutrik USB plug for my bartop and it looks and works great.
