IPac Vs Hacking a Controller
« on: March 10, 2010, 07:36:06 pm »
Ive hacked controllers before (with varying degrees of success) to be used for various things on PCs.  For a while I didn't know about the IPac, now it looks like the way to go.  On a single player machine how many would go through the trouble of buying a 50 dollar IPac against just moding a controller.  Are there cheaper alternatives?

use the ipac trust me
the controller i just used would not allow me to fire fast enough in defender and an ipac is only twice the price of a cheap controller
save yourself a headace use the IPAC

I would go with a gamepad for a single player. Much cheaper and not really harder assuming you can solder. http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=78&products_id=258 works great, and has large solder points and a shared ground between all of the inputs.
