mamemarquees.com control panel installation
« on: March 09, 2010, 07:53:43 pm »
I have my new cp ready and artwork in from mamemarquees. I have never installed CP art before. Its an mdf CP coated twice with KILLZ2 and then a few coats of black satin latex paint. Should I use some additional adheasive or should whats on it be good? Just dont want it peeling off. Should i smash it with another board and put some weight on it for a couple days?

3M spray adhesive couldn't hurt - just mask everything off before you start spraying!  Also, I've never ordered an adhesive backed CPO so I don't listen to me.

My adhesive backed CP overlay from mamemarquees was plenty sticky -- no extra adhesive needed.

You don't need it, the adhesive backing from Scott's control panel art is plenty sticky enough.  Using the 3M spray might make it worse, just make sure the panel is clean from any dust or dirt to ensure the best adhesion.  I wiped mine down with a damp cloth and waited like 30 mins before I carefully applied mine.
