Trackball questions
« on: March 08, 2010, 10:10:07 pm »
I had a question I couldn't find an answer for on the ultimarc website.  I'm having a custom control panel top made.  Its top secret.  The problem I am having is with the mounting of the trackball.  I have a HAPP usb 3 inch with the mounting plate in my current panel.  This plate probably wont work with the new panel.

Ultimarc's Utrak has a usb option, but I didn't see anything about having mouse buttons.  In fact I'm not sure if the Utrak has the ability to have mouse buttons at all.  I did see that you can buy the UTrak and an Opti-pac then wire buttons into the optipac.

My question is Can I just buy the Utrak with usb support and hardwire buttons into it, or do I have to buy the Utrak and Optipac?  I want mouse buttons.

Ultimarc has said they have a version with mouse button support (2 or 3 buttons, I'm not sure).
GGG also has a controller with 3 button support.
The are both about the same price.

i hooked my utrak to an optiwiz from groovygamegear.  it was cost effective and supports 3 mouse buttons, i am very happy with it.
