Gaussed!
« on: March 07, 2010, 07:14:27 pm »
Hi all,

I finally mounted my monitor tonight and the positioning looks wonderful.  It's great to see the system in there and I'm almost finished.  The big but is that 3 of my corners won't degauss.  Any ideas on how to fix this without buying anything?  If I let it sit for a while and degauss again will it make a difference?  It's mounted with straps, but it's fully covered and nothing is putting an inordinate amount of pressure on the monitor.  It's a regular computer monitor, any help would be most helpful!

Do you have anything like big speakers close to them?

is the monitor mounted horizontally or vertically? i had a 19" crt pc monitor i put in my DK cabinet, when i rotated it to the vertical orientation, i had problems with it degausing.  after about 2 days of leaving it sit in that position and degausing it again, it started working fine.

It's vertical, maybe I'll try that.  I've had it on it's side for a while when it was on the floor, maybe it is on more of an incline now.  Fingers are crossed that it'll come out.

Anytime you move a monitor this can happen -- happens on my Joust cocktail everytime I move it. If I'm not patient enough to let it degauss on a cold start (I let it sit for a day), then I used to use a corded drill, but that died and I just use little magnets and move them as fast as I can in small circles (much bigger pain than the drill).
