Joystick problem, any suggestions?
« on: March 07, 2010, 02:00:19 pm »
Hey guys-

I'm having a joystick problem on my MAME cab.  When I move the Player 1 joystick to the right, the on-screen character will go right but then will stop even though the joystick is still being pushed to the right.  It seems every other direction is working properly.  Could it be a faulty microswitch?  Any help would be appreciated!  Thanks! :)

is only when pressing right on that joystick? i had a similar problem with my x-arcade, but it did that no matter which direction i pressed.  it turns out it was a problem with the ps2 to usb adapter they sent with it.  when i connected it right up to the ps2 port, it was fine.

Yep, I think you're right- I only noticed it going right when I posted but after a few more games it was happening in all directions.  I'll try that tonight- thanks!  8)

yeah, i first noticed it when pressing right, because that is the directly most likely to be pressed and held in, due to the design of most games.
