apologies for what should be really easy...

I'm trying to get mala running... but it won't generate a the games list for MAME.  I've tried both versions....  not sure what the issue is, I had not problems doing this on a different Pc a few years agod.

I'm running mame32 v0.66.    windows xp.  I've pointed mala to the roms folder...clicked and unclicked search subfolders...

Help ?  what obvious thing am I missing ?

Hi,

Just following up on my earlier post.... looks like catver.ini is part of my problem...... do I need to match catver.ini to the version of mame ?
It's also having trouble creating the xml file.

with no xml file, it won't know what games are available.  that xml file is the key to everything.

you can also use malagamelist or even romlister to generate lists of games, but fix that xml problem first.
