ArcadeVGA issue: blank screen after boot
« on: March 04, 2010, 11:38:25 am »
I'm working with Andy on this issue as well, but I thought I should pose it here in case anyone had ideas what could be happening.

I have an ArcadeVGA2 that I got from Andy in January. It's a PCI-E that I'm currently using on an LCD monitor through the DVI port as I setup the computer portion of my cab. I've installed the card, and I've installed the drivers. It recognizes that its an ArcadeVGA and looks like its installed right. Probably 1 out of every 5 boots, every thing works normal. The other 4 though, the monitor essentially goes into standby mode after the Windows XP loading screen is finished. I've found that if I unplug the DVI cord and then plug it back in, everything works fine. If I restart, the issue generally appears again. Every once in a while, it will continue through the screen fine.

Does anyone have any insights on what could be happening? Since it makes it through the bios and the XP loading screen, I don't think its an onboard vs PCI-E issue. It makes me think its some sort of driver issue because it happens once Windows truly starts loading. But, then, why would unplugging / replugging in the cord fix the issue?

Thanks for any help.
