Coin mechs are modular and pretty much all the same.  You should be able to get whatever will work with your choice of currency (token, quarters, etc).  As for wiring it up, there is a switch that detects the coin drop.  Just hook that up to your encoder for P1coin and P2coin.  For lights, you need 12v (could be different depending on the bulbs).  The easiest thing to do is take that from your PC's power supply.  Just get a molex splitter and cut a connector off.  Then, connect the lights to the yellow (sometimes orange) lead and a black lead (doesn't matter which side if it's an incandescent bulb, does if it's a LED).

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

Buy a Visa Gift Card. You can use it as a credit card, only it has the exact amount you put on it and nothing more.

Coin door isn't complicated on a MAME cab. Wire ground from ipac or whatever encoder to both coin mechs, then run individual inputs (Coin 1 and Coin 2) to each mech. Super easy.

That diagram isn't even needed.

Power is only needed to run the lights and the coin counter (if it's part of the door for some reason).  If you just want the coins to register, you just need to connect the switches to your encoder.
