Mayflash Fighting Stick USB 1.1? and usage UP/DN/LEFT/RIGHT
« on: March 01, 2010, 12:09:26 pm »
Hello all,

I'm putting together a bar top game machine that could run MAME and OTHER games including touchscreen games.

I'm interested in this stick since it's all black:
http://vpgames.com/p-1041-mayflash-ps2ps3pc-usb-fight-stick-arcade-joystick-for-playstation-2-3-and-pc-fighting-games.aspx?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=Froogle&utm_campaign=PS2/PS3USBFIGHTINGSTICK&

I have a couple of questions for people that have it.

1) Is it USB 1.1 compatible since I only have low-speed USB ports on this PC?

2) Can this stick work for games that require UP/DN/LEFT/RIGHT keyboard input?  I know MAME will work since it seems to work with everything but maybe some other silly PC games that were normally designed for just kb input.  Does the mapping software for the stick support this or is there some other freeware that would work?

Thanks in advance,

jjcousin

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

Every time I see these, I always think, "It's sleek and cool looking to hide the fact that it's cheap junk."

Anyone care to prove this thought wrong?

I have to agree. Most of these are pure junk, you're better off building your own control panel imo.

they are right.  u can live with the quality of the buttons , but the joysticks feels like a sanwa after 10 years of daily use. i havnt checked if it can be replaced with better parts or if it works with usb 1.x . i got one of these for 30 euro new and didnt expect a highend product.  i also have the usual hori , madcatz joystickstuff in use for console gaming , but prefer selfbuild equipment . its of better quality and a lot more fun than most of the china crap . i know nowadays nearly everything is made in china , but the goal is 2 pick the 10 % where price and quality matches the expectation.

there are some progs for mapping any keyboard input on a game controller ..
