Restore I-Pac Factory Settings
« on: February 25, 2010, 04:40:44 pm »
I recently ran into a problem with my cocktail cabinet and I'm not sure of the solution (or the cause!).

I've had the cocktail running smoothly for over a year, but the other night I turned it on and suddenly the joystick and buttons didn't seem to be working at all. After verifying that the front-end menu and games were working properly with a keyboard, I assumed the problem was somewhere between the controls and the PC. The wiring all seemed fine, so I opened Notepad and moved the joystick around. Here's what showed up for the Player 1 joystick:

Up = v
Down = z
Left 2
Right = 5

The player 2 joystick and all of the other buttons were equally screwed up.

uh oh.

I'm not sure how this happened. The only thing I can think of is that a few days prior a freind's (unsupervised) 5 year-old turned the system on and was wailing away on the joystick and buttons. But could that really have changed all of the inputs? He wasn't even touching the Player 2 controls and those are screwed up, too. At the time there was no keyboard attached so I can't fathom how different inputs could have been mapped to "V" and "Z". It just seems so odd that all of the inputs have changed.

So, is there a way to "reset" the I-Pac back to factory settings? Or is this some other problem that I'm overlooking?

You'll need to download the Winipac utility found here

That will flash it back to factory defaults.
