Screenshots - snaps, titles and flyers
« on: February 23, 2010, 05:19:45 am »
Hi there!

Does anyone know where to get screenshots for some of the more obscure formats? I have the majority but Game Gear, NG Pocket and Wonderswan escape me. I right-clicked and 'Save Picture'd the NG Pocket but it took some time. Surely there must be some packs out there - they're pretty small.

ScreenShotArchive seems to have closed down (shout-out to them for my previous packs) and the draconian requirements for no-intro puts me off.

Alternatives?

Sort of, thanks. Trouble is, all the shots are named with a bizarre code. I'm not averse to doing a bit of work myself but working out which snap goes with which game is a bit tricky.

They have a renamer on their website. You plug in the dat file for the romset, you plug in the folder with the weird names (CRCs) and it will rename. It's under their tools sections. (http://no-intro.dlgsoftware.net/archivos/tools/No-introImageRenamerSetup.exe).

The idea, I think, is that the CRC of the rom doesn't change as much as the name can. So this is a more robust way of naming. It's an extra step, but not too bad.

This is a nice site for artwork, however I never was able to successfully rename their snaps using the Image Renamer utility and the DAT's they provide.  I've tried everything (at least I think...).  If someone has a trick, please say it...
