I built this cabinet a few years ago, i woke up one morning and decided that I wanted an arcade joystick, then when i was doing research, saw that people were building their own cabinets...then I had to have one. Now this was my first attempt and the cab has been changed a few times since. When I started it I rushed everything, worked from about 5pm-2am multiple nights trying to finish it up because I wanted to play so bad.

The controller is using the DIY kit from X-arcade from a few years ago, I chose this because I have a modded xbox 1 and it came with 1 free adaptor, so I can run this too. (well when there was a TV in it). Since then, I bought a few extra buttons and a 4 way joystick which i wired to copy the player 1 joystick.
I use to have a old 19'' CRT TV in there and I made a bezel out of wood and it looked pretty crappy. I bought my self a new 23'' LCD for my PC so i swapped the TV for my old 19'' widescreen LCD which i mounted vertically for games like Pac-man, DK, Galaga, Burger Time...etc. Im happy with it, except of course if i get the urge to play a 4:3 game :\
The bezel around the monitor I made with some presentation board from a craft store, and for mock up purposes, the artwork I printed and used a lot of black tape to get a feel for what it would look like. The Galaga Marquee also is just taped together for mock up purposes.
The Control panel artwork I actually got printed at staples, something like $25, not too bad, but since localarcade was down, i used a low res image, and its a little pixely.
The side art, my friend painted, we always rock some Super Smash Bros Malee, so I had him draw and paint that for me, turned out really good!
There is no T-molding because I was lazy.
The first thing I installed on the PC was mame with mamewah. It worked well, but was too simple. So a few months ago I found HyperSpin and decided it needed to be changed, and I love the menu now! (needs a way to shut down directly from the Frontend tho...i havent looked that up yet.)
And finally i got a Over/Under coin door on ebay with Mechs for about $50 a few months ago, so I put that in wired it up and adjusted the mechs, works great!
Anyway, I just wanted to share and get thoughts on my unfinished/finished project.
the past few weeks I have done nothing but think about a donkey kong scratch build, so I am going to start that in a few weeks with the jakobud plans, and Im gonna take my time with this one, and use t-molding! haha
Let me know what you think!
