Canadian and American quarters
« on: February 21, 2010, 05:07:35 pm »
I am in Canada, but my back yard touches the US. I wasn't thinking when I bought my coin door that it would reject my Canadian quarters, and about half of the american gumball machines and arcades that I have tried can't tell the difference. Is there a way to adjust the coin mechs to accept both, or would I have to replace the mechs? I should probably get the model number or brand name off the mechs, I'll do it in a bit. It's not a huge problem anyway, I usually have a few American quarters kicking around, it just makes it harder to charge my friends   ;D. Thanks, and sorry if this is too vague.

remove the magnets from the mechs. the only real difference is that canadian quarters are magnetic while american are not.
