mala running slow
« on: February 20, 2010, 12:50:15 am »
i just solved the problem of having mala find roms, now the issue is that the games run about half speed from what they should. Im using mala105a and mame0136b. I just nuked this pc im running these programs on, meaning i just partitioned the system and installed a clean windows xp home on it. Its an old asus p2b motherboard with an intel celeron and only 192 mb of ram. will a setup like this really not support mala?

You're PC may be nearing the end of the performance spectrum.
It is probably ok for true classic games like PacMan or Space Invaders, but don't expect Mortal Kombat 3 to be running flawlessly.

I currently have a P3 800, 512mb of RAM w/ ATI Radeon x800 (256mb AGP) card, and it has serious difficulties with some of the more 'modern' games, including Mortal Kombat 1 & 2, even Street Fighter 2. Unfortunately.

I'll be looking for a cheap/free newer older PC once i finish my cabinet.
