Battlefield Bad Company 2
« on: February 18, 2010, 01:32:35 pm »
I haven't had a need to buy a new game in years.  I've downloaded the demo for BF:BC2 and I really want to get this.

If I preorder it through GameStop I get unlocks:
Battlefield Bad Company 2

I haven't played a multiplayer game that has a powerup/unlock.

It's a pain to play online because everyone seems to have better weapons than me.(or maybe it's because I suk)

I'm going to buy this game as soon as it's released, is it worth preordering for the unlocks, or is that just a scam?

Its a pain to play online because your opponents tend to have better gear and/or younger reflexes.  ;)
If I had only one wish, it would be for three more wishes.

I had the same question when the Army of Two sequel came out.  I decided not to preorder it.  A week or so after it was released, Amazon had it on sale for $20 cheaper, so I bought it.  I was glad I waited even though I didn't get the preorder code.

The multiplayer demo is incredible, I was hoping single player mode would allow me to pratice as a medic or a sniper.  Instead you have to play as an assault guy with very structured/linear game play.  It's so so.

I've only played for an hour and I didn't play the multiplayer game, but so far I'm unimpressed.

I would say if anything the single player campaign definitely holds it own against MW2 visually and gameplay wise

I played MW2 at a friend's house and I was really impressed.  I was ready to buy it when I heard that BF:BC2 was going to be released.

The only thing I didn't like about MW2 was the lack of vehicles. I guess I bought BF:BC2 hoping the campaign would be like MW2 and that it would have extra single player games that were really the multiplayer games with AI characters.  Like the Unreal games.  This way I could practice things like flying a helicopter and being a medic without a bunch of 13 year olds screaming at me because I accidentally killed them.

Hopefully the campaign will have a few missions requiring those skills.

Don't buy it for single player. Buy it for multiplayer. So far I've played 10 hours of multi and LOVE it. Fwiw, the 13 year olds seem content with halo and mw2. So enjoy and add us all on your list. That way we cab squad up. Much better that way.

I felt like doing working on my MAME cab on Monday and I have a pile of vacation days so I took it off.  Sunday I started playing multiplayer at 6pm.

I stopped playing at 5am.

When I woke up at 11am I played for two hours.  It felt like I was playing the game on easy.

Here's a tip if you want to dive into the deep end of the Battlefield pool, after 3am on a school night only the really dedicated are playing.
