Hey guys!  I picked up an old Hanaho external control panel for cheap from a friend.  I'd like to convert it into the controls for a Jamma setup at my desk, and I'd like to have 4-way support.  What top-switchable joysticks fit in the same holes as this one?

I wanted to avoid having it connected to a computer to do the 4-8-way switching. Any other alternatives?

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

There is this:

Does that actually work?  I don't see how it has enough information to do a good job. A real 4-way knows roughly which direction you are faciring when towards diagonal. A u360 knows because it us analog. This only knows that you are diagonal and what your previous state is. Seems like it would be wrong a lot of the time.

That's the debate.  I'm not inclined to put money into it to find out.

Mostly I pointed it out as something to watch and see what the consensus on it is. It's nothing I'm going to try (have U360s already).

Cool. I have a spare u360 and this is going to be used on my computer desk, so maybe I'll go ahead and give it a try. I suppose switching modes on the computer isn't a big deal. The jamma setup will be connected to an Amiga monitor also on the desk.
