Hi everyone,

I recently received my topgun II, but I have no idea how to install the windows 7 driver

here's the link http://hkems.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=291&page=1

 the files included include

profiles/default.ini
hidmini.sys
hidtopgun.cat
hidtopgun.inf
hidtopgun.sys
TopGunPanel.exe
WdfColnstaller10009.dll

Can anyone tell which one is the system driver? and where I would put it?

What I did was first put the files in a temp folder.  Then I ran the driver signature enforcement overrider, put Windows 7 into "test mode" and rebooted.  (I think you only need the overrider if you're running the 64 bit versions of W7 or Vista but I'm not sure)  After that, I plugged in a gun and went into the device manager -- look for something that says "unknown device".  From there (I can't remember if it was a right click or double click) you should be able to update the drivers -- just point to the temp folder where you saved the files.

Sorry I can't remember in better detail  :(

when you did the signature enforcement overdriver, what file did you point it to sign? I thought the exe file would be the driver installer, but it's just used to configure the settings (so I imagine you need to have it installed before this point).

Also, what files did you put in the temp folder? the whole folder?

I have the program, and I figured out how to put windows 7 into test mod, and how to sign files but, I'm not sure what file to sign and where to put them after that.

So I figured out how to install the drivers.. (I haven't had a chance to test out the guns yet, since I tested it out on my laptop)

Download the 64bit windows 7 zip folder for the driver and the ems.exe file

1. Unzip the topgun 64 bit windows 7 folder anywhere

2. Run the EMS program and put your computer into test mod (don't close it just yet)

3. Now you're going to sign two file sin the topgun driver folder, hidmini.sys and hidtopgun.sys

4. restart your computer and pluging the topgun during the restart

5. Click on the windows icon and type "device manager" or get to the device manager however you find easiest

6. You will see an "unkown" device, it will have an exclamation point next to it

7. Double click on icon, and click on the driver tab.  From here you can click something like install or update driver. Then click the manual install option

8. Direct it to the topgun driver folder (it will search the files inside on it's own)

and that should install the device!

If you notice that your right and left click stop working on your pc, just reset it and it'll be fine.

Thanks to Dizzle for pointing me in the right direction
