I bought a Happ 2-1/4" trackball and I am going to hack it to a USB mouse so I can connect it to my PC.   I would like to get a molex connector which fits the one on my trackball so connecting the mouse to the trackball will be easy.

Does anyone know what type molex connector which can be used to connect to my HApp 2-1/4" trackball?

Perhaps someone has a couple of them lying around to send me?  I think I need two in case I screw something up.

If it's like the Happ 3" trackballs I got, it's a standard 6-pin (3x2) molex connector, which you can get at Radio Shack or Fry's Electronics if you are close to either one. They were like a couple bucks each.

Can anyone find the exact part number I need at Mouser.com (or some other site which sells molex)?    $4.00 at Radio Shack for two male connectors seems steep to me.

$4 w/ contacts is only a little higher than you'll pay online from Mouser, and you don't have to pay shipping.

The mating housing to that shown in the picture is a Molex #03-09-1064 and uses contacts Molex #02-09-1119 for AWG18-22 or #02-09-1139 for AWG22-24.  You can get the Mouser stock number by prefixing the molex P/N with "538-".  Housings are 25c each and contacts (get extras as you'll probably mess up a few) are 11-12c each.

If you don't have a crimper, you can either mash with needlenose and solder or the Molex "cheap" crimper (I'm not a fan) is #538-63811-1000 at Mouser.  It's $49.  There's also a service kit Mouser #538-WM-50 that includes a bunch of housings of various sizes, pins, and an even cheaper crimp tool.
