How would this work without a working Gamecube or PS2 emulator?

Well... many games works really well on the gamecube and ps2 emulators.  Lots of gamecube games work and run at 60fps on dolphin, ditto with ps2 emulator.

Really?  I guess I haven't been paying attention.  If the emulator exists wouldn't it just be as easy as integrating NES, SNES, etc. into the FE?

I havn't been following GC emulation but there is somewhat viable PS2 emulation, however the compatibility list has huge holes in it still.  They are GETTING there however.

I'm not sure if it would be as easy as integrating the other emulators...  Maximus seems sorta dead lately, and I think it would not launch by simply puttin in the exe and roms folder.  I have no idea how to add systems to the hyperspin emulator, but it seems to be possible.

As far as the gamecube and ps2 scene goes.. some of the ps2 fighting games work pretty well, might give us access to some games that don't work too well on nulldc

You would be surprised by how well the gamecube emulator runs.  Many games, including smash brothers, run really well.  On the ps2 one soul calibur runs 3 runs really well. I'm probably just going to stick to the ps2 fighting games and shmups... too many games. It's really easy to rip a ps2 game to an iso and use that with the current emulator. And ps2 games are fairly cheap to get ahold of on ebay.

shattered i would suggest going to the hyperspin forums for a full tutorial on how to add other emulators. you basically have to go into the hyperspin directory and edit the .ini files to add the emulators to the menu as well as the back end. lots of people have done it for other systems or even other emulators for current supported systems (i,e, wanting to use snes9x instead of znes etc.)

I have to agree though i find it tough to find games playable for ps2 or the cube. i havent tried many, but the ones i have all seem to struggle and have serious issues with video lag or sound problems.

good luck though!

I have never seen nor heard of either working at a playable state on any pc

what are you running for a GPU & CPU  :dunno

1GB ATI RADEON HD 4850, Inte 2.6 GHZ i7 920 cpu, 8gbs ram

I can even run some wii games on my comp, the 2d ones work best

here's super smash melee on my pc

and a wii ware game

the most important part to emulating these systems is the cpu speed (3.6 ghz is ideal for running wii games! crazy!).

Yeah, I'll go ahead and ask on the Hypespin boards! Thanks, I just asked here because I would be interested to know about both front ends I listed (MA and Hyperspin)

I think I'm more interested in a PS2 emulator so I can make digital video copies of some games attract modes.  Though currently Time Crisis 2 and Time Crisis 3 are not compatible.

This is why if I build a cab, screw MAME, I'm gonna toss a PS2 into it instead. :)  It got lots of arcade ports of all sorts afterall.

I'm sorry, but for HyperSpin we do not officially support current generation emulation on the HyperSpin forums.  This includes those systems that offer backwards compatibility, Gamecube games are still selling because of the Wii backwards compatibility.  Because of this we will not support Wii or Gamecube emulation on our forums.  The same goes for PS2, Nintendo DS, Sony PSP, PS3, Xbox and Xbox 360.  Technically the Gameboy Advance would fall into this category as well, but Nintendo's release of the DSi removed GBA support we do support emulation of GBA.

good to know the dsi does not support GBA I was thinking of getting one and trade out the DSL for it but with no gba support I will just keep my DSL instead.

kinda silly of them to do that anyhow.
