happ ultimate stick
« on: July 09, 2002, 08:29:39 am »
HI everyone!

I got my parts from happ today and got Problems with the Ultimate Arcade stick. I can't put that damn thing together. I did it exact like the picture at happ, but the stick does cracking noises when moving and I can hardly move it at all.

Could anyone who built such a stick before please aim/icq me, I have a few questions.

thanks a in Advance

not sure how differently there put together then competitions. but it most definilty sounds like the springs not set properly :) when i first put mine together i used heavy springs, so i just unscrewed the base. set the new spring right, and it was fine.

It sound like the spring isn't compressed. The 4/8-way actuator has to compress the spring, then the retaining ring will slide into the grove at the bottom of the handle shaft to hold the tension.

Hmm...if it hardly moves at all, it sounds more like the tapered spacer (the one you drop into the stick from above) is in upside down.  That would keep the stick from tilting much...Or maybe something is not put together right inside the base...

the problem is inside the hub.call happ to see if you can replacement..also use comp or super joystick...no offence but ultimate joysticks are horrible..somehow it dont work well..i played in the arcades using those..and i used the perfect 360 and supers also...super joysticks is the best for your money..so call happ and tell them you want to exchange..they will give you replacement.
