Possible virus infection on BYOAC exe download
« on: September 09, 2008, 11:09:36 pm »
just noticed that McAfee SiteAdvisor is saying there was a virus infection in a file stored at arcadecontrols.com.
The site report: http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/arcadecontrols.com?version=2&core_ver=1.0&pip=true&premium=false&client_ver=2.8.277&client_type=IEPlugin&suite=false&aff_id=0&locale=en-us&os_ver=5.1.2.0

The suspicious file report: http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/arcadecontrols.com/downloads/385767/

Just a heads up.

The file appears it should be a joystick emulator but it does seem to have a virus in it (AVG caught it as well when I scanned the file).

I'll seperate the link so that no one accidently clicks it, but for the file is located at
http://arcadecontrols.com/files/Drivers/

with the name dpadpr60.zip

It is infected and has been removed. Sadly, all copies I can find on the net are likewise infected, including the location where I first found it. :(

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

I've had that on my hard drive for a VERY long time. I'll scan mine when I get home.
