We have had 3 days of very warm weather here in Vancouver...sunshine and blue skies for at least another 4 days.

Sucks for some of the athletes but the tourists and athletes of most events are loving it.

Dutch weather is also way to winterish for here. 3 months with often snow is very unique. We are getting tired of the snow. That (and the timedifference I guess) is making me wanting to do everything except watching Winter Olympics. In 2014, please put this winter-show where it belongs: in the Christmas holidays. Not at the moment the narcissus pop up, birds start breading and spring is what we want.

I awoke up to a fresh blanket of snow in the UK (West Midlands) today. Heavy snow forecast for the next four days. The rest of the UK has heavy rain apparently. This has been the coldest most wintry Winter I remember.

Roll on Summer with it's endless days of cold, miserable and constant rain.

I like rain in the summer.  Though not too much to flood my house, which hasn't happened yet, but I wonder if and where it has a breaking point.

I also don't like the resulting growth in grass.  Though I have a much smaller yard now, so that point's relevance has diminished greatly for me.

Homer Simpson said it best:
"Pack your winter coat Marge, we're going to Canada's warmest city!"

Canadians move to Vancouver to get away from snow. Snow is considered a rarity there. Only in recent years have there been a couple freak snow falls there. Rain in winter is what is considered normal. Why they ever got the Olympics is beyond me.

NO MORE!!

NASA uses "short legs" in space?

I live in Vancouver and it is the BEST right now! On Friday there were apparently 150,000 people enjoying venues and concerts after the games.... I was among them and it was definitely an experience. Lots of positive people having a good time and not alot of drunken retards, amazing!

I think if we had snow all over it would put a damper on waiting in line for 2 hours to pay $20 to get into the German house and buy $9 beers.... :burgerking:

Tonight the beer in the Heineken house is 1$ only. Prins-pilses treat! He has 1 day vacation left and needs more party with Maxima. Sven lost and all cloggies are flying home now, therefore the superdeal.

Yep. Vancouver= almost no snow. ever.

We usually get 1,  maybe 2 good dumps of snow a winter.   Lasts about a week at most... driving is chaotic... everything shuts down...   probably a good thing we didnt get snow for the olympics  :laugh2:
