Best way to clean monitor tube/PCBs?

I'm currently refurbing an Electrohome G07-CBO from a Pac-Land cab.. the monitor doesn't come on (the rest of the game does) and I'm currently disassembling it to refloe the joints, install a cap kit, and replace the flyback/HOTs (hope that does the job  ).. while it's apart, the tube and PCBs are filthy.. what is the best way to clean these (tube and PCBs)?  Degreaser/rust remover/jewelry cleaner and a toothbrush?  Anti-static wipes and just clean it as good as I can manage?  Naval jelly the rust spots?  I have no idea what is safe to use and can't seem to find any info on it..

Another question.. there are some kind of rubber feet between the neck and tube assemblies.. one has popped off and I assume it will need to be reglued/taped.. but one seems to be dripping (or was attached messily to begin with) on the wires in the neck.. does this matter since it's non-conductive anyways?  Any way to sop up the glue without risk of damaging the wires/neck (probably not, I would think, but may as well ask)?

Look for Electrowash (use only with equipment unplugged, and let it dry *thoroughly* before powering it up, it's extremely flammable) or Blue Shower.  Either works great for cleaning circuit boards.

I'll get that or the stuff Bob Roberts sells when I place an order for JAMMA stuff for the PCBs.. what about the tube? It's primarily glass, isn't it?  So I can probably use anti-static wipes (like one would use to clean monitor front glass) like the Endust kind..?

Either of those cleaners will work fine for the back of the tube.  For the front, use any anti static cleaner, or just plain old Windex works perfectly well.

can of air:)  and isopropyl alcohol (it's not conductive).  Any computer lab will have that in a cabinet.  At least IBM did:)

Hm.. to follow up: so SirP, is isopropyl alcohol the same stuff as they sell in cans to clean PCBs (and of course the afforementioned filthy tube)?  There's a big difference between getting a $0.99 bottle from the drug store and a $15 can of PCB cleaner from Bob.

Let me know if I'm wrong (and you had meant to just use it on the front of the monitor or something ).  Don't want to screw everything up before I even get to the difficult part.

Hm.. well, I'll be doing a cap kit and probably replacing the flyback, horizontal width coil, and HOTs.. so I think I'll get some non-conductive cleaner safe for PCBs from Radio Shack or Fryes for the boards and then just wipe the tube with a damp paper towel & let dry.  Sounds good and no special cleaners for over $10/can.

I don't see why I'm worried about it.. despite the resources available on the web and my own abilities, one of us [the monitor & myself] probably won't be coming out of this alive..
