i'm using 8 virtual drives to run pc games can this slow my computer down?

I'm running

amd 2500+
raedeon 7500
512ram
on board sound

i'v noticed it slows down on street fighter and of course killer instinct running from u64. But the crackling sound when i play tghese games is almost unbearable. Is there something i can do to assist me with this. i'v stopped all the startup programs. Zshould my sysatem be fast enoughtohandle these gameas? oh also just recently i added alchohal 120% and created 9 drives to store iso's to run pc games. havingf those drives made slow my games down? Any tips to minimize the crackling be great!
