D9200 Discharge

I have heard from a few people that the D9200 has an auto-discharge feature but haven't really gotten a confirmation on this.  Can anyone on here confirm whether or not this is true ?  I'd rather not discharge it manually if not needed.  I've read that the screwdriver with wire to chasis can damage the monitor and that a proper equipment should be used.

Maybe a dumb question, but are you sure you need to discharge it?  Unless you need to separate the tube from the chassis for repair, discharging the tube shouldn't be necessary, and in most cases more dangerous than just safely handling the monitor intact.

I sortof got the feeling that you should discharge the monitor whenever handling it just to be safe.  I don't plan on disconnecting the tube from the chassis.. just going to ne moving it around a bit and handling it to take measurements and fit it in to a cab.

Thanks for the link.  I'm now less paranoid about handling the monitor and don't plan on discharging it
