I'm really happy I could repair these 2 Tatungs VT-1980. I just finished with them.
I'll post what the problem was in case anyone come across them in the future.
They are Digital Monitors.
I found:
Blown HOT (C5521)
Blown MOSFET (IRF9630)
Blown resistor (4.7 Ohm, 1W, 5%)
Blown Damper (BY359X)
The problem is that I just replaced the HOT the MOSFET and the resistor at the beginning; but I overlooked the Damper and didn't replaced it. The consecuence was that the MOSFET overheated. I realize about it, found the bad Damper and replace it. Then the Monitor started working; but the picture was shrunk Horizontally a little bit with pincushion problem also. I couldn't adjust the H-size enough. The Mosfet was still overheating a little bit... Hummm. I replaced the MOSFET again and the picture is perfect now. The lesson here is that even when the MOSFET didn't blew completely and was still working, the initial overheating was enough to alter it's performance affecting the picture quality. This confirms previous findings that even not completely shorted transistors can be bad in the pincushion control circuit. Same with diodes. I just double cheked it and is not shorted; but the readings are little bit off.
