Portable mame (need some ideas)
« on: January 29, 2010, 03:41:18 pm »
I want to build a Portable mame and need a few ideas. Here is what I want to do. I want it to be 2 player with play 6 buttons per player, have a keyboard and mouse built in, want eveything to be inside of control panel (MB power ETC) and Lite as possible. None of my friends have a mame setup so it would be nice to be able to bring this portable version put it on a table and play.

I think you are talking about an arcade in a box.

See Saints review Here

See the next link for a KB touchpad that will fit in the box

If you want light as possible, I would stuff a nettop inside, that earlier linked build looks pretty heavy

i finished my mamebox some weeks ago . i build it for testing of mamescart capable tvs , coz i was fed up with searching 1000 components for a test setup . its build in radeon 4350 can handle soft 15 via vga output or run pc monitors or even dvi or hdmi screens . maybe the pics are of some interest to u .
