Would LCD screen scratches matter behind smoked glass?

If not - I could pick a cheap, damaged one from Ebay. Does anyone know to what extent I could get away with it?

Smoked glass should do well with hiding any small scratches that arent too big and deep.  I only notice small scratches on LCD panels when light reflects directly onto the panel.  Having a glass covering will eleviate this, the light reflects off the glass.

It all depends on how big the scratches are though.
