Screen Tearing
« on: January 27, 2010, 02:05:27 pm »
I'm running MAME, DAPHNE, and a dance program off my MAME computer through MALA.  I also have ZSNES and MESS to run NES, SNES, SMS, GENESIS.  Here's my problem; when trying to play any games in ZSNES and MESS that are scrollers I experience a lot of screen tearing.  I have toyed with all of the video settings (including vsync and triplebuff) but nothing changes a damn thing, it always stays horrible.  What's odd is that with MAME I experience nothing more than minimal tearing and only in one game that I can notice.  Can anyone offer any advice on this?  Aren't console (i.e. NES) games designed to run right at 60hz?  Doesn't that mean there shouldn't be any cause for screen tearing whatsoever?  Would installing ADVMESS to run the console apps yield better results?

Thanks in advance   :notworthy:
