What this disc of mine is supposed to do in theory is you just boot with it. It then formats the drive, installs DOS and appropriate drivers, then vantage and GL with all their files. All the roms, sounds and eventually snaps are there too. About a 10 minute process depending on the hard drive size. Then pull the disc, reboot and you are ready to go ...
If you want to do that, you would have an easier time starting with the SpyStyle disk and stripping it down, removing options and ect, until you have what you describe....
...And that's all there is to it
Why reinvent the wheel? Fraggal made a great disk, I picked it up and added a lot, now it is available for you to pick up and make your own version.
And now confusion sets in...
OK. Where to start.
First off. Craig, thank you so much for putting all this hard work into my Vantage disc. Yours is a invaluable service to the community and I really appreciate it.
Secondly. Have you read thru my post(s) above closely? Either you haven't or I don't communicate very well, and my communication skills, I'm pretty sure, are the problem. So let me make it clear....
MY ORIGINAL DISC WORKED PERFECTLY FOR ME ON THE LAPTOP I AM USING! I have games on it now and they work. Audio and all. I didn't need to start over. I wasn't trying to
reinvent the wheel. I JUST NEEDED HELP REBUILDING THE ISO.

I made 2 small changes by adding roms and re-writing GL's header.
Which leads me to ask why you wanted to strip it down and rebuild it?
It's probably safe to say you are using that VirtualPC thing to test my disc out and it obviously didn't work. VPC cant possibly emulate my laptop can it? How can it test my hardware on your computer? My laptop has completely different ram, audio drivers, video drivers ect. ect. Therefore it didn't work right for you. So you decided to rebuild. Thats fine. I think it's great that you went to all that trouble. I just feel that you didn't need too. What you ended up with is not even close to what I have on my disc. The menu is completely different and it looks like the boot screen logo is gone too.
I am going to use your little tutorial above and try and rebuild my
slightly altered iso and see if that will get me the results that I wanted.
Again, I want to stress how much I appreciate everything that you've done. But really this thing feels like it took on a life of its own and completely got away from what I was after.
I wish I could do a better job saying what I need and I hope I haven't wasted all your time. I've learned more from you than anyone on this forum and If I get this to work I'll snap some pics to let you see what I have.
