all pots max out before they actually stop moving or hit the plastic top of the controller so your still going to get 100% +/- out of each X & Y 10k pot but if they were not like that say you were playing a racing game.
one controller you get 96% throttle and the other 91% and the guy with 1oo% wins everytime becuase the sticks are limited by the plastic ring on the controller case but since there not getting 100% out of each pot you would have controllers where one is better then the other type thing.
if your joystick hits the wood your not going to get your full range of motion of coarse but if nothing is in the joystick's way then you will get your 100% 10k out them pots for sure wich is the same thing you get out of the xbox's 10k pots.
I do know the xbox and 360 use the same becuase I have removed one from the other and installed them vice versa a 10k pot is a 10k pot as long is it has the dead zone and the +/- can be moved to 100% without anything getting in the joysticks way
why would anyone buy a joystick that only has limited movement to 70% unless it was something that required it

I play my gamecube console with a ps2 controller sure the thumbsticks and pots feel different and the range of motion differs from a gamecubne controller but them pots still hit 100% on the controller and gamecube console so I am still not sure what your meaning I guess.
as for the yoke I dunno what your talking about on that becuase I dont know what that part is on a xbox controller joystick or pot.
I am not trying to argue either I am just wondering what you mean is all.
