Donkey Kong Original Marquee Size
« on: January 06, 2010, 10:22:02 pm »
Hello all,

I am a bit confused. I am in the process of ordering an Original Donkey Kong Marquee for a replica I am going to build. I see that some Website sell the marquee at sizes of 26" wide, even though the plan on jakobud.com state the width should only be 22.5" Wide.

Which one is correct?

I looked on ebay and an original DK JR Marquee is 22"x6"

I am looking at ordering from emdkay.com, and even theres is showing 26"x8"

I wan't to make my cab as close to original as possible so should I ask them to make the Marquee 22.5" x 6"?

Thanks for any help!

You are using plans from an outside source (other than Nintendo)
Use & double check your own measurements...top to bottom and left to right.
Take what you wrote and then go to http://www.mamemarquees.com/donkey-kong-marquee-p-725.html

( I'm at work right now so I cant access emdkay...they might can do custom sizes)

Type in the measurements and pay...BAM you are all set.

The should be no reason to use or buy an orginal marquee unless you have an orginal cab or a cab that has outer dimensions the same as the orginal marquee.

As per the first paragraph says on Mamemarquees:

Please put a Height & Width in the form below. If no measurements are given, it will be printed at the original size of the initial scan. We highly recommend you measure your cabinet and put the size in below, some cabinets vary through the year on the marquee size, or your particular cabinet may not be the original cabinet.

We list all marquees as 26" x 8" as it's the most common size, even though the original may be sized differently.  The Donkey Kong marquee is originally 22.10" x 6.20".  You can order here:
http://emdkay.net/catalog/donkey-kong-marquee-p-100.html

..and just state that you'd like the size printed to be the original 22.10" x 6.20", although you should measure your current marquee area to double check.  We have that marquee on sale right now for $11.96.

Why can't you reach our site, but can load others?  I'm wondering if there's something I can do to fix that.

Some business networks have bizarre filtering rules. For a long time I could access digg, but not cnn (or nbc or some other crap news site can't remember anymore).  :dunno

Hey emdkay....yeah My work has filters that block certain sites...they do that make sure that we are "working" nonstop for tha man...
They block yahoo, ebay, facebook, myspace, games websites...porn...etc
But I can access the forum here, craigslist, amazon...etc
Its funny, cuz I can access GroovyGame Gear , but I cant access MikesArcade... some of the sites are just like that...

When I go to your site....I get a blocked page saying:

Access to the URL: http://www.emdkay.net/catalog/index.php has been denied.

(Your request was denied because of its content categorization: Games.)

I used mamemarquees as an example when i was answering the question. If the kid is making a custom cab, he should use check his measurements...

Yeah if you can change the content categorization...that would be great...
