K7000 Pincushion Adjustment
« on: January 06, 2010, 08:36:39 pm »
Another question guys. Is there any way to adjust the pincushion on a K7000? I know there are dedicated pots on the Wei ya's, but I am clueless on how to do it on a K7000. Any help would be appreciated.
Current collection - 28 cabs, 4 pins. (32 machines and not enough room)

Adjust the yoke.
Not a technician . . . . just a DIY'er.

pin cushion correction compensates for the inherent time lag in scaning the corners of the crt.  usually 25" and up - exceptions are the flat crts

displaying a crosshatch pattern will allow scan imperfections to be seen.
such as faults in vertical and horizontal linearity/ pin cushion, convergence ( dots are best for fine tuning convergence)
yoke alignment ( rotation and neck position)

adjust pot(s) for straight VERTICAL lines

loss of correction will give an hourglass pic  )        (
overcorrection will bow (       )

The 27" k7000 chassis has an additional pincushion correction board.  Similar but different than the add on board seen on 27" U2000/U5000 chassis.   I've never seen the schematic for it though for a k7000 and I've personally only seen ONE in person.  Good luck.  Try a different yoke.  That usually does it for me.
