Trackball mounting plate screws
BobA:
Thanks Triangel7D that helps. If I can find a screw that fits the plate I can use your measurements and take that screw to the hardware store to get replacements.

Hi BobA, I had the same frustration as you and went to many Home Depots, Lowes and even brought the plate to Brafasco which specializes in screws and no luck :hissy:
I was able to determine that the same screw you use to mount a cd or dvdrom (item B in the pic below) but had to find ones long enough. I tried a few computer and electronic specialty shops and no luck either.
I gave up and ended up using strapping for pipes to mount my trackball from underneath to the plate. I didn't bother contacting Suzohapp since I figure shipping would probably not be worth it and besides it is underneath my panel and only I would see it.
You can sort of see it in the picture above and cost $3 for a pretty decent sized roll. Also came in handy for mounting and strapping down the power supply and hard drives inside my showcase and bartop arcade cabinet too. The trackball is pretty solid and doesn't move at all and can take a pretty good beating. If I even come across the screws I won't hesitate to install them but for now this works.

I don't have my set next to me, but I know my kit was "standard" sizes, so that would mean 2 3/16" and 0.25". One thing I did, however, was get a longer bolt so I could put a bigger heavier washer to spread the support a little more. I think I got 2 1/4" bolts (easier to find) and washers something like these.

You guys should just contact the manufacturer of the hardware like st said. They will help at least give you the specs for the fastener. Seems to me you are making this too difficult.
In any case, if a box store doesn't have what you need, you could always try a store the specializes in fasteners like Tacoma Screw (local to the NW US only though).

My mounting bracket did not have a manufacturers name on it so was not really aware of its origin. I have no problem sending out e-mails to Suzo-Happ. Or paying shipping for the right screws.
